Yukon is a territory in northwest Canada that is wild, mountainous and sparsely populated. In the late 1890s, Yukon was famous for the Klondike gold rush; Dawson and Whitehouse were a prosperous city with many diggers and settlers. You can still see the history after a century. Yukon has become a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, wildlife viewing, snowmobiling and aurora viewing. Yukon is also well-known for “a journey of a lifetime” for bikers who travel from here to Alaska and as an excursion tour for cruise passengers.
